Fire and Smoke

The fires in Northern California continue to burn...here's a link to a satellite photo taken on June 27th. Here's Central California, same day. The smoke in the Central Valley and along the Big Sur coast is "impressive"

Yuck! And this:

"As of Monday, June 30, both directions of Highway 1 in Monterey County south of Big Sur remain closed to through traffic for a 20-mile section due to the Basin Complex Fire.

From the south, the highway is closed just north of the town of Lucia, 23 miles south of Big Sur. From the north, the highway is closed at the Nepenthe South Entrance, about three miles south of Big Sur.

There is no estimated time of reopening the highway, which has been closed since Saturday afternoon, June 21."

Life in Northern California.....
Remember the days of Stage 3 Smog Alerts and knowing the San Gabriels were somewhere behind the haze?

Road should be opened by the time you come through. Will be nothing left to burn.
